Lucille Shannon

Lucille Bolton Shannon was born and raised in McLain, MS, in the Flats on March 9, 1957. She is a woman whose life shines as a radiant testament to God’s faithfulness, perseverance, and the power of family. A serial entrepreneur, ordained minister, conference host, and speaker, Lucille has dedicated her life to inspiring others through her story of resilience and hope. She earned her B.S. from USM, Hattiesburg, MS in Psychology, Secondary Education, Physical Education, and Kinesiology! She worked for the Veterans Administration and received many accolades during her tenure (1980-2004) such as Employee of the Year.

As a 28-year breast cancer survivor, she embodies courage and determination, using her journey to encourage and uplift others walking through life’s challenges. She is the founder of Emissary of Hope, a global mission outreach serving widows and orphans, and Bossom Buddies, a support outreach for breast cancer survivors.

Lucille has been joyfully married to her husband, Robert Sr., for more than 42 years. She is blessed with a beautiful and loving family that includes her two sons, Robert Jr. and Marcus, her amazing bonus daughter Catina, and her two wonderful daughter-n-loves, Casai and Nikki. Her greatest joy is being “Nana” to her twelve precious grandchildren, who bring delight and inspiration to her life.

She is a licensed, Ordained Minister and serves as a faithful member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Sherman, TX. Lucille serves with dedication on the Ministerial Staff, the Praise & Worship Team, the Women’s Ministry, and Evangelism & Outreach. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she continues to serve and support her community.

Beyond ministry and service, Lucille enjoys singing, music, dancing, and traveling with family and friends to explore the goodness of God’s creation. She also curates life-experience trips, retreats, and excursions for Christian women—creating safe, joy-filled spaces for them to break free from the shackles of life, rediscover their God-given purpose, and embrace a new season of growth, freedom, and fulfillment.

With warmth, joy, and an unwavering faith, Lucille truly lives as an emissary of hope—touching lives, building communities, and inspiring women everywhere to walk boldly in their calling and shine in their God-appointed season.
